Many local residents will by now have seen the proposed improvements to Tolworth Broadway and the surrounding area. The computer generated pictures on the right show the proposals for Tolworth Broadway.
Kingston Council have been carrying out their own consultation, but from speaking with local residents we are aware that not everyone feels like they have had their say on what they would like to see happen to the Broadway and the surrounding area. Some people say they haven’t received enough information and some nearby areas were not included on the latest delivery of consultation material.
Tolworth has not received the same amount of investment as other areas of Kingston. But now that there is the chance of investment, we need to be sure it is spent in the best way.

The main proposals for Tolworth Broadway are:
The removal of the central barrier – allowing pedestrians to cross anywhere along the Broadway. Creating a ‘Greenway’ – transforming the central reservation with a type of green tarmac into a place where people can walk, cycle and sit. Narrowing the road lanes – to make space for the Greenway, the road lanes will be narrowed. It is expected that the narrow lanes will reduce traffic speeds to 20 mph. New pedestrian crossing at the roundabout – providing surface crossings and improving the pedestrian bridge over the A3 to create better connections to Tolworth Station and leisure facilities. Many residents have concerns over safety, the look of the Greenway and whether the money could be spent better. We want as many people to give their feedback as possible, and to hear about your ideas for the area.
This is the most extensive consultation yet for the Tolworth Broadway plans.
Make sure you have your say.
